As many of you have noticed by now, we performed another update to the site last week. Unfortunately, we were so busy with the upgrade - and holiday preparations - that we didn't get a chance to give you the scoop on the new functionality.
Last week's updates include:
- New 'Add Content' Section - We tried to simplify the experience of adding new content to your tabs. We did this by splitting up the content into multiple categories including 'Services', 'Tools', 'Multimedia' and 'Fun'. We also have an all inclusive 'All Minis' category for those of you that just want to see all of the components at once. We've also tried to make it easier to find and add our pre-selected content for Blogs, Podcasts, etc. - if you need the help in discovering new content.
- Export OPML - We've added the ability for you to export your OPML file. This allows you to migrate your feeds to other feed readers/aggregators, although we're hopeful that you'll be using yourminis.com for the foreseeable future.
- Bookmarks Mini - We've added a bookmarks mini to allow you to store all of your web bookmarks within yourminis.com. We allow you to enter the URL and description of the site, and then allow you one click access to the site from the mini.
- Favorite People Mini - We've added a favorite people mini. This allows you to track your friends. Actually, this may either be people that you know and are truly your friends, or just people who create tabs that you enjoy viewing. You can add favorite people from our public pages - and this mini allows you direct access to their pages. You can also enter someone else's id to see their favorite people!
- Blogroll - We've added a "blog roll" feature which shows you the people who have been to your public pages. It's always interesting to know who is interested in your content, and this adds to the social interactivity of the public pages.
- Comments Email: We've added a feature which send the owner of a page a notification email when someone posts a comment to their page. This should again drive more interactivity within the public pages and make the experience more social. In the future, we will add a setting to turn this functionality off for those that don't want this notification.
Thanks for your continued support - we truly appreciate it. Wishing all of you a very Happy Holiday Season!

AFAIK gmail doesn't work - it basically sends you back to the 'login settings' screen no matter what credentials you initially enter.

The GMail mini definitely seems to be working with my account. Perhaps there's something about your GMail account which is causing a problem? Are you using a standard GMail account or is it a GMail for domains account?

so whatever happened to the social comment mini? And re #6 above...how would someone leave a comment on your public page?

The social comments mini "went away". Unfortunately, we released it into the open before it was ready, and after exploring it we realized there were some architectural challenges with and chose to remove it. We may add it back in at some point in the future, but it's not on the immediate roadmap.
As to your other question, you can leave comments when viewing a page through the community public pages. For instance, if you go to this URL,
you will see some comments at the bottom - you can post a new comment or reply to an existing comment - as long as you're logged in.

I understand about the technical aspects but understand this-that is a differentiator that I have not seen in any of your competitors. Not even close. I vote for it going back on the roadmap. :-)
